ICT is a very exciting area of the curriculum at Cambridge Primary School!
It is used extensively from the Nursery through to Year 6. We teach a wide range of areas such as databases, e-mail, multimedia presentation, spread sheets and word processing, and use a variety of ICT from computers and programmable toys to digital cameras and listening stations. We are also developing the use of Moodle (an interactive learning platform), new software such as Maths Whizz and PurpleMash, and of course our school website to enrich learning across all subjects and age groups. This year video conferencing was used to communicate with NASA which was an extremely exciting opportunity for our school.
All classes have an interactive whiteboard and two computers and we have a well-equipped computer suite.
We also run computer clubs as after-school activities for both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 children, primarily for children who do not have access to a computer at home, but also to assist children with their homework.
