National Science and Engineering Week
National Science and Engineering Week was a great success at Cambridge Primary. All classes took part in science activities in their classes during the week in preparation for the ‘Science Market’ which took place on the Thursday. Each class presented their week’s work as a ‘hands-on’ stall for the other children to explore.
The police also came along and demonstrated the science behind finger-printing and breathalysing. They even brought a police van into the playground to show how science helps them every day!
Volunteers form the Institution of Physics brought variety of equipment for the children to investigate, including a very popular Van de Graaff generator which amazed the children as they saw their hair stand on end!
Professor Pumpernickel wowed the children with an exciting and explosive show, that as well as entertaining the children, demonstrated a variety of chemical reactions.
